KINGSTOWN, St. Vincent – This country has recorded its second homicide this year.

A young woman died Wednesday night after she was shot, reportedly in the head, in the Edinboro-Ottley Hall area.

The woman has been identified as Alvisha Browne, a 19-year-old mother of three. However, I-Witness News is yet to independently confirm these details.

The shooting is said to have occurred in the vicinity of a shop close to an entertainment centre in the area.

This country recorded its first homicide for the year on New Year’s Day.

Junior Lowman, 23, of Georgetown died at the Milton Cato Memorial Hospital just over a week after he was allegedly thrown into boiling water with his hands tied after reportedly trying to steal a farmer’s sheep.

Three men appeared in court Wednesday morning to hear murder charges in relations to Lowman’s death. They were remanded in custody.

  3. a man also died. men not safe either?
how can we live in a world where women are asking for equality and yet everytime a woman dies we say O M G a woman died?
its like saying its not safe for black people. I bet they were both of african descent. You jokers need a life and stop pointing stupid sarcasm at a situation which is bigger than the little cracks and comments people make.

  5. Let me say what I’ve been saying again!!! Start HANGING AGAIN! WHILE THIS MAY NOT BE POPULAR WITH MOST OF THE WESTERN WORLD WE ARE NOT GOVERNED BY THEM. WHEN WE HAVE CANADA DENYING ASYLUM FOR OUR YOUNG WOMEN WHO ARE TRYING TO AVOID THESE END RESULTS, AMERICA DEMANDS A VISA WHICH ONE HAS TO PAY FOR AND WHEN ONE ISN’T SUCCESSFUL that money is gone. Please protect our young women and their children before they are left motherless. That is all!

    • The Prime Minister said that his government doesn’t have anything to do with the crime situation, so who are you asking to hang them? Isn’t the government of a country who usually does the hanging/lethal injection or whatever?

    • I agree that we must protect the vulnerable in our society from violence and so far that seems to be mostly women and children. However. i find it strange that went a person is trying to escape abuse in Vincy they seek to go to Canada, US or UK….what happen to seeking refuge from such abuse in other Caribbean islands where there are better statistics in favor of fighting domestic abuse?
